Dedication to Special Education
Dedication to Special Education is an all-volunteer parent organization committed to improving special education in Marin County. In October 2004, the water sculpture, “Community,” was created and donated by designer Archie Held celebrating the alliance of educators, families, community and corporations working together to help children with special needs in Marin County. Image for Success
Image for Success (IFS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing wardrobes to disenfranchised women, men and children of Marin County making the transition to self-reliance. IFS was founded in 1999 by Barbara Lee to meet the needs of women in the Welfare-to-Work program. Since then IFS has expanded to meet the needs of the entire family. At Image for Success, they believe that self-esteem begins with self-image. Their clients are referred to them by more than 60 social service agencies and nonprofits in Marin County.
Image for Success provides each individual with a complete two-week wardrobe, free of charge. Donations of new or gently used women, men’s and children's clothing (clean and on hangers) may be dropped off at The Village Concierge. For more information, visit www.imageforsuccess.org.
Corte Madera Larkspur Schools Foundation
The Village at Corte Madera is proud to support the Corte Madera Larkspur Schools Foundation (CMLSF). The CMLSF is a nonprofit organization staffed by parent volunteers. It is dedicated to raising private funds each year from you, your neighbors and local businesses you frequent to supplement the financial needs of Neil Cummins and Hall Middle Schools. CMLSF was founded by concerned parents in 1980 following the passage of Proposition 13 which cut deeply into local school funding.
Over the past 27 years our schools have weathered numerous state budget crises. CMLSF can’t solve the frustrating lack of government funds for our schools, but we can make a difference in bridging the funding gap. Ritter Center
Located in San Rafael, is a multi-service agency that fosters self-sufficiency for low-income families in an effort to end homelessness in Marin County. The Center maintains an Emergency Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, Health Center, Emergency Financial Assistance, Day Service Center, and provides seasonal programs. Ritter Center was established in 1980 to respond to the needs of Marin County’s low-income residents. All agency programs focus on providing highly professional services with respect and compassion. The agency employs a comprehensive case management model to assess each client’s immediate and long-term needs. A case plan is then developed to help stabilize clients and lead them back towards self-sufficiency. Ritter Center’s main objectives are to transition people into housing, employment, and health, mental health and substance abuse treatment, as well as to improve people’s day to day living conditions.
The Village at Corte Madera has partnered with Ritter Center through a major clothing drive by including community and retailer participation. This collaboration brings awareness to Ritter Center’s services and goals that help to improve the lives of those in need in our local community.
Contribution Requests
Each year, The Village at Corte Madera will contribute a preset amount of funds in the form of Gift Cards, merchandise and use of property to a diverse group of organizations. Hundreds of requests are anticipated each year. Donation recipients may include civil organizations' education programs, food banks, foundations, hospitals and health care organizations, youth programs, performing arts, museums and many more. Each request is reviewed carefully, however, not all requests can be granted.
